The Real-time and Embedded Systems Forum defines, coordinates, integrates and
prioritizes real-time and embedded systems standards utilizing various existing
architectural approaches. The Forum also defines test suites and certification
programs for products adhering to these standards to enable the proliferation
of conformant real-time and embedded systems.

What we do
The Forum is a focal point for real-time and embedded systems
developers and customers, as well as other industry standards
groups, and is working on:
Profiles and Certification
for real-time
and embedded systems and applications, including POSIX® Profiles,
Linux® for Embedded Systems, and Safety and Mission-Critical
real-time Java®.
more
Security
Examining the intersection
of security requirements with real-time and embedded systems
to develop reference protection profiles.
more
Safety/Mission Critical Applications
Working with Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) component developers
and system integrators to remove barriers for the use of COTS
in safety-critical systems.
more
Open Architecture
Developing a reference architecture.
more
