Title: SOA at The Open Group Conference in San Diego
Description:

The Open Group Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference in San Diego, CA, USA in the week of 2 February 2009 included:

  • Conference plenary presentations on:
    • BPM Blended with an SOA Approach, and
    • SOA Status in Japan and Future Direction.
  • SOA-related conference streams:
    • Enterprise and Information Governance in SOA Environments, and
    • Standard SOA Reference Models and Architectures;
  • An SOA Summit in which participants in OASIS, OMG and Open Group activities:
    • compared the standard SOA models and reference architectures being produced by the three bodies, and
    • considered how they can be harmonized for the benefit of the IT architecture community;
  • A joint meeting of the SOA and Semantic Interoperability Working Groups on Data and Semantic Technology Architectures for SOA; and
  • An SOA Working Group meeting that:
    • Reviewed the SOA Source Book;
    • Progressed work on the SOA Governance Framework and the SOA Reference Architecture; and
    • Discussed co-ordination of SOA work in English-speaking countries and Japan.
