The Open Group Announces Impressive Speaker Line-Up for 21st Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference

Industry Leaders from American Express, SAP, Capgemini, Forrester and Ovum to Present Original Sessions on TOGAF™ 9, Service-Oriented Architectures and Business Analysis for Enterprise Architecture

SAN FRANCISCO, January 7, 2009 – The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, today announced the line-up of speakers for its 21st Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference to be held in San Diego, Feb. 2-4, 2009 at the Marriott Mission Valley in San Diego. The opening day of the conference will focus on the formal debut of TOGAF version 9, the popular enterprise framework developed by The Open Group in conjunction with its members. Plenary keynote sessions include an introduction to TOGAF 9, which will be given by Mike Turner, enterprise architect, Capgemini, and Steve Kirby, principal enterprise architect, SAP, as well as a session on the “Value of TOGAF 9” presented by Chris Forde, chair of The Open Group’s Architecture Forum and VP integrator SDN-T strategy & architecture, American Express.

Additional TOGAF-related sessions will further dissect and examine the new standard, including its improved modular structure and new content framework. The conference will also highlight a numberof key issues facing the enterprise architecture community, such as SOA, enterprise interoperability and the relationship between business analysis and enterprise architecture. Speakers on the session roster include: Ron Tolido, CTO Continental Europe & Asia Pacific, Capgemini; Ann Rosenberg, BTC Global Practice Ownership for Business Process Management, SAP, Denmark; Minoru Terao, senior VP, NEC; and Terence Blevins, chair of The Open Group Certification Standing Committee.

A thought leader panel discussion on the “Evolution of EA Frameworks” hosted by ZDNet blogger and principal of Interarbor Solutions, Dana Gardner, will close out day one of the conference. Participating in Gardner’s panel will be Tony Baer, senior analyst at Ovum; Janine Kemmeren, enterprise architect for Getronics Consulting and chair of the Architecture Forum Strategy Work roup; Jane Varnus, architecture consultant for the Enterprise Architecture Department of the Bank of Montreal; Henry Peyret, principal analyst, Forrester Research; and Chris Forde of American Express. The panel will examine the evolution of popular enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman and DoDAF, and discuss their increasing importance for global businesses.
